Saw Operator, HR 18.30 (Permanent, Days, Full Time)

Primary Duties:
The Saw Operator will be required to work day shift at Marid's production shop, cutting steel into required measurements of length and width, so that it can be welded and fabricated. The position is required to ensure steel is stacked and moved from various areas and/or tables by using an overhead crane.
The ideal candidate will possess the following knowledge, skills, abilities and/or experience:
- Grade 12 High School Diploma
- Industry experience is considered an asset, but employer will train.
- Knowledge of basic math
- Communication skills both oral and written
- Safety training in Overhead Crane, Forklift, WHMIS
- Effective listening skills
- Ability to follow instructions and directions
- Ability to work in a deadline sensitive working environment
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds

Safety Coordinator, HR 18.01 (TEMPORARY 2-3 Mos.)

Primary Duties:
The Safety Coordinator will provide advisory consultation and supervision on safe work practices, by means OH&S legislation and Marid's Loss Control Manual. The Safety Coordinator will be responsible to ensure employees understand and comply to the engineering, administrative and behavioral aspects of OH&S.
The position is a temporary placement for a 2-3 month period and will be ON SITE at an outside structural steel project.
The ideal candidate will possess the following knowledge, skills, abilities and/or experience:
- .At least 2-3 years industry related experience as a Safety Advisor/Consultant
- Completed certification in CHSC, CRSP or CHSO from a recognizable safety institution.
- Knowledge of OH&S Act and General Regulations, pertaining to structural steel, fall arrest, WHMIS.
- Knowledge of accident and incident investigation, hazard assessment, site inspections, safety auditing.
- MS Office computer related skills
- Able to work in construction areas where level of noise is moderate.
- Communication skills both oral and written
- Effective listening skills.
- Ability to liason with managers, employees

Senior Estimator, HR 18.25

Primary Duties:
The Senior Estimator is responsible to prepare cost analysis for all types of Division 5 proposals through a vareity of standards and procedures. The Senior Estimator will prepare estimates for internal and external designs, maintain client and customer relationships, while mentoring Junior and/or Intermediate Estimators.
The ideal candidate will possess the following knowledge, skills, abilities and/or experience:
- Certificate in Construction Administration Technology
- At least 5 years related industry working experience as an Estimator.
- Knowledge of advanced math concepts such as trignometry and formula application to structural steel.
- Knowledge of both Imperial and Metric systems of measurement conversion.
- Ability to read, analyze and interpret general business correspondence and technical documents (such as drawings, addendums and specificiations)
- Ability to effectively communicate information to managers, customers, suppliers and employees in both written and oral form.
- Ability to effectively maintain a high level of quality based customer service.
- Knowledge of Fabtrol, MS Office, Email
- Strong organizational skills and time management skills.
- Ability to work in a high pressure, deadline sensitive work environment.
- Superivsory experience is considered an asset.
- Safety training is considered an asset.
